Psalm 34
Worry is on my heart, when Jesus should be on my heart. Jesus forgive me...You tell me not to worry:
Yet I continue to worry. I need to focus on Jesus and not on earthly matters. I need to focus on a renewing of the mind (Romans 12:1-2), and on prayer. Only Jesus...
My Prayer: Lord Jesus, I know that I should not worry and that if I abide in You that You will produce fruit in me...including peace. I want this peace and I want this peace to be on display in my life. Please forgive me for my worry and thank You for Your many mercies and Your love. Help me overcome my sin of worry and turn towards You...to seek You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, mind and strength. Help me love others as You do. Help me grow in my faith. Give me strength. Give Lisa strength. Please heal and cure her of her cancer and the side effects from chemo and radiation. Help me lead and serve Lisa, Zach and Dustin...and serve You. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. v4
Worry is on my heart, when Jesus should be on my heart. Jesus forgive me...You tell me not to worry:
Therefore I tell you, do not worry
about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what
you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than
clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If
that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and
tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you
of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:25-34.
Yet I continue to worry. I need to focus on Jesus and not on earthly matters. I need to focus on a renewing of the mind (Romans 12:1-2), and on prayer. Only Jesus...
