But the Lord is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail.

Jeremiah 20

But the Lord is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. v11

Jeremiah is attacked by the Israelites for delivering the Lord's warning to them - warning of an impending punishment for turning their back to the Lord.  Jeremiah is even put in the stocks.  Yet even in his own punishment, we can see glimpses of his faith.  When we feel the world is against us, all we have that we know is for us is our faith, our Father in Heaven - Jesus Christ our Savior.

We can lean on Him during times of trouble.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30

See also John 16:33.

My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an amazing God who loves me, who helps carry my burdens - thank You Jesus.  I am not worth such a God because I daily miss the mark - please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You.  Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You do.  Help me grow in my faith.  Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength.  Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo.  Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior.  Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others.  Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
