2 Peter 2
Peter warns us of false teachers who promise much but lead us only to destruction. One key way they lead us astray is through a promise of freedom, implying that the way of the Lord is not freedom. Unfortunately, as Peter says we "are slaves to whatever has mastered [us]".
They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.” v19

21 So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but
I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind
and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. 24 What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? 25 Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin. Romans 7:21-25
My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an awesome God full of love and compassion for me...thank You Jesus. I know I am quite undeserving. I am selfish, lazy, and lustful. Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome my sin and turn towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You do. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
