but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

Hebrews 9

Am I living life with the "end in mind"?  I am going to see Christ either when He returns via the rapture or when I otherwise die.  In both senses, I don't know when I am going to die so the question becomes whether I am living life "with the end in mind".

In Hebrews this question arises here:

27 Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28 so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

The "waiting for Him" does not imply inaction.  On the contrary, in Hebrews we are implored to not only believe but to grow in Christ (to move on to solid food Hebrews 5:13-14).  We need to move the needle.

My Prayer: Lord, You words are a lamp unto my feet and they are Truth.  Without Your words I am lost.  I desperately need you Lord.  I am not only lost without You but I am broken and useless.  Yet You are able to use my brokenness - how great You are and how great You are to me.  Lord, I continue to have anger problems, pride problems, greed problems, and on and on.  Please forgive me for all of this and please purify me of all of this - invade my heart, take it and  transform my heart and my mind Lord.  Help me give my life totally away to you.  This is my desire.
