“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “God’s Messiah.”

Luke 9

“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “God’s Messiah.” v20

In Matthew, this same account includes not just Peter's response to Jesus' question but Jesus' response once Peter declares that Jesus is the Messiah:

Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.  Matthew 16:17

We should all be aware that faith is from God - and Him alone.  I can share the gospel but God gives me the words and He works through me - I am the instrument of His hand. This is also part of my comments from a couple of days ago.

My Prayer: Lord Jesus what a great God You are - You gave me faith to accept You as my Lord and Savior and You continue to grow in my heart and life - thank You Jesus!  I am undeserving of such a God...I daily miss the mark.  Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You.  Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You love me.  Help me grow in my faith.  Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength.  Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior.  Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin.  Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
