Philippians 3
Paul desires for us to "press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus' (v14) - we are to run the race, endure, and persevere. God is doing something in our lives and He is not done yet - in the meantime, our Citizenship in heaven gives us responsibilities: obedience, allegiance, etc. Our citizenship in Heaven also implies a longing to be home, because we are not at home in our earthly bodies.
My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an awesome God who loves us and who is saving a place for us in Heaven - and You provide eternal life for those who believe, including my mom who at 81 accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Praise God - thank You Jesus. I am not deserving of such blessings in my life. I sin...daily. Please forgive me and help me turn from my sin towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You love me. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. v20-21
