Jesus wants us to make Him the highest priority in our lives. We exist to glorify God and the most important commandment is to love God. Yes there are other commandments but we have to start with acknowledging our need for a Savior, Jesus is that Savior, and surrendering our life to Jesus through the daily practices of spiritual disciplines such as Bible study, prayer, etc.

Paul refers to what he may have lost in his pursuit of Jesus as garbage; this is an apt description for what the world defines as success or status. It means nothing and leads to destruction and eternal damnation.

Jesus must be everything.

My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an awesome God who loves me and who has revealed to me the surpassing worth of Jesus and I am grateful! Thakn You Jesus. I am not deserving of such a gift and the blessings that follow. I am selfish, lazy and have other sin. Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You love me. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply your message for me today and every day.
