I am the Lord, and there is no other, besides me there is no God; I equip you, though you do not know me that people may know, from the rising of the sun and from the west, that there is none besides me; I am the Lord, and there is no other. I resumed my deep dive of Isaiah, based on the Precept Upon Precept study series. Today, I start Lesson 17, which examines Isaiah chapters 44-46. My focus for today is Day 1, which looks at Isaiah 44:24-45:25. Isaiah prophecies in Isaiah 39:5-7 how Judah will fall and be taken captive by Babylon, and here in Isaiah 45 (starting in v1) we see how God uses King Cyrus of Persia to sack Babylon and free Judah from exile. This is yet another example of how God uses people outside of the faith as part of His plans. God reigns over all - in v7 we also see how God works in evil and calamity. We should never question that God is in all things - see also Colossians 1:15-17. We should also see how God works in all things for good - see Romans 8:28 - for many circumstances in our lives we may never know the good that is being worked out but we CAN rest assured that it is good and God does love us. We will have trouble (John 16:33), but God has overcome and in so doing gives us eternal life.

My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are great and how You work is amazing - You are in all the details of my life and all the details of all lives - You hold all things together and I know You love me and give me eternal life - thank You Jesus! I am not deserving of such a blessing - the greatest gift of all time. My sin is great and it continues. Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You love me. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
