The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40-41

I continue my deep dive of Isaiah, based on the Precept Upon Precept study series. Today, I move on Lesson 15, Day 3b, which looks specifically at Isaiah 40:12-31.  Here, we are urged to see God as incomparable, as both verses 18 and 25 exhort us not to compare the One True God to another.  As we transition from verses 12-26 to verses 27-31, we see God referring to Himself as "the everlasting God," and "the Creator of the ends of the earth." God then describes Himself as never lacking any power or understanding, and available to strengthen those who are weak.  What an incredible description!  We know God is powerful - it is described not just here in Isaiah but elsewhere.  Believers should recognize God's power towards us - see also John Piper's message on the below verses in Ephesians where Paul prays that:

"...you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come." Ephesians 1:18-21
