Just as God passed judgement on the Egyptians (Exodus 12:12) and protected the Israelites so will He protect His servants once again in the final days when Jesus returns (see my notes from David Platt's study on Revelation) - see also Revelation 7:3 as an example.
We all sin and need a Savior - I am grateful that God protects me from the destroyer.
My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an awesome God who loves me and who has protected from the destroyer now and in the final days - thank You Jesus. I know You provide victory over sin and death - thank You. I am not deserving of such a gift. I sin...daily. Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome my sin and turn towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others a You love me. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message to me today and every day.
When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down. Exodus 12:23
