The circumstances here mirror what has been going on here in the United States - for nearly 20 years people in the U.S. have felt strongly that their elected leaders don't represent them and we are increasingly a polarized nation. My own view is that God is in control - that He places our leaders above us and that unless these leaders ask us to rebel against God, we should submit to these leaders.
The Israelites here don't want to follow David, who has returned to Jerusalem.
We may not like what is going on in the world - yet we must remember that it is God who is in control.
My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an amazing God who is in control over the heavens and the earth and You are slow to anger and abounding in love. You love me, despite my sin. Thank You Jesus. I am not worth such love. I worry and am impatient. Please forgive me Jesus. Help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind. Help me love others as You do. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
