Hosea 14
As I wrap up my study of Hosea - I end on a positive note, with Israel returning to God and with God welcoming back a repentant Israel. In verse 2-3 we see this "return" along with a recognition that the Gods fashioned by man serve no good and only anger the one true God. In verse 4-8 we see the blessing that accompanies those who turn to and submit to God. Most importantly, there is humility and a recognition, that God is before and in all things and in control (Colossians 1:16-17), and that without Him there is no good things, especially wisdom.
God provides all things.
Additionally, we see how Israel finds true freedom, contentment, and joy in the ways of the Lord - this is true freedom. Instead of being slave to sin, we can be slave to Jesus and have true freedom - freedom in Christ.
My Prayer: Lord Jesus, what an amazing God You are - You are before, in, and in control of all things and You provide for all of my needs and I don't need to worry. Thank You Jesus! Yet I do worry. Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You love me. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
The ways of the Lord are right; the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them. v9
