Genesis 21
We often worry or doubt that God knows our struggles and hears His cries. God does not promise a trouble-free life - in fact, He says:
In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33
In the midst of our troubles, we may not know or understand what God is doing in our lives but we can take comfort that He never stops loving us, He has a plan and it is for good (Jeremiah 29:11).
God heard the cries of Hagar (for Ishmael), the Israelites in Egypt (Exodus 3:7-10), and He hears our cries.
My Prayer: Lord You are a great God that never leaves or forsakes us and is always listening to our prayers and cries for help. Thank You Jesus - what a great God You are indeed! I am not worth such a God. I worry. Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You do. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
