...[B]ecause he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors. Isaiah 53:12
I continued my deep dive of Isaiah, based on the Precept Upon Precept study series - and on Day 5c of Lesson 19, I complete my review of Isaiah 53 with a reference to a number of a number of verses that describe the manner of Jesus death - that He died in humility, with two criminals - one on either side of Him. He was willing to be beaten, mocked, "numbered with transgressors," and ultimately crucified - although He did nothing wrong. He became the perfect sacrifice for our sins - that we could have life...in abundance now and for eternity with Him. Amazing grace! We must model such humility, and we are to reflect on how Jesus died and THAT He did...even though He did nothing wrong and lived a spotless life.
Scripture references include: Daniel 9:26, 1 Peter 2:2, Luke 22:37.

My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an amazing God who loves me and who is full of grace for me - thank You Jesus! I am not deserving of such grace. My sin is great and it continues...daily. Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You love me. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
