I continued my study of Proverbs, moving deeper into chapter 8. Today, the questions of my study focus one how wisdom is an attribute of God, how wisdom (God's Word) is more valuable than any earthly treasure, and how humility and a desire to please God drive us into His arms to seek Him and His wisdom. The commentary for this chapter of my study includes thoughts on how God offers wisdom to the undeserving, rewards and blessings for those who seek wisdom, and life and favor to those who find God. The commentary also includes a discussion of how gates, throughout scripture, served to separated those who believe in God and those who do not. John Piper reminds us how, with Christ, we have direct access to the Father - what a comfort and encouragement! Be encouraged! Go to God in prayer!

My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an amazing God who loves me and who is full of compassion and grace for me - You never leave or forsake me. Thank You Jesus! I am not deserving of such love. My sin is great - gossip, etc. and it continues. Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You love me. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
