The Lord did not hesitate to bring the disaster on us, for the Lord our
God is righteous in everything he does; yet we have not obeyed him. v14
We may not like what God is doing in our life but just as
Daniel states, God is righteous
in all that He does and I would go one step further that He is perfect
in all that He does.
Daniel prays to end the suffering of Israel who is in exile
and pleads with God for mercy (v19).
The angel Gabriel once again appears to Daniel providing further
prophecy of the end times. See also this
post
from John Piper on this topic.
We must view God’s discipline
as training.
My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an awesome God who loves me
and who disciplines me out of love – thank You Jesus. I know You love me. Thank You Jesus. I am not worth such love but You provide it
anyway. I worry. Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome
and turn from my love towards You. Help
me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You love
me. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and
strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer
and from the side effects of chemo. Help
us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord
and Savior. Please provide Godly friends
and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me
serve You, my family, my church, and others.
Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today
and every day.
