But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment. v22
The Ten Commandments includes “[y]ou shall not murder" (v13). Jesus takes this a step further by forcing us to examine our heart - as everything flows from the heart (Proverbs 4:23). Anger or hate in our heart is murder as well. It's not just what we do, it's how we do it and our heart condition when we do it.
As God is, we must be slow to anger and abounding in love.
My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are SO full of patience and compassion with us and slow to anger and abounding in love. Thank You Jesus! I am not worth such grace and mercy. I am quick to anger, and often harsh with my words and actions. Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul and mind and love others as You love me. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
