This morning, until I start a new Bible study, I continue using devotionals from John Piper. Today, the post focuses on what Piper refers to as "the great battle of [our lives]." He unpacks this great battle by first stating that "[o]ne of the great enemies of hope is forgetting God’s promises." The antidote is the constantly remind ourselves of the "greatness and grace and power and wisdom of God." Otherwise, Piper writes how "we languish...[by] wallow[ing] in the mire of godless messages in [our] head." We are referred to John 14:26 where Jesus promises the Holy Spirit and says that the Holy Spirit "will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you." We are also referred to Psalm 77:11-12 where it says:
I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds. Psalm 77:11-12
I am indeed grateful for all that God is and for all that God has done.

My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are indeed great and all that You have done is great and You have done much, and in fact You have done it all as You are the source of all things and my life. Thank You Jesus for giving me life to the full and for eternity with You in Heaven. I am not deserving of these blessings...not by a long shot! I sin daily...worry, etc. Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You love me. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
