For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified. Hebrews 10:14
This morning, until I start a new Bible study, I continue using devotionals from John Piper. Today, the post focuses on encouraging everyone to acknowledge their imperfections, and on how Jesus sanctifies those who surrender to Him and "work out their faith" (Philippians 2:12) in Him. We are all imperfect but God not only forgives those who place their faith in Him, but He also sanctifies them. Those who truly believe in Jesus hate sin, just as God does, but faith in Jesus and a desire to seek Him for forgiveness and sanctification put us on a path towards victory over sin. I need both forgiveness and sanctification. Great encouragement indeed!

My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an incredible God who loves me, who forgives me, and who sanctifies me - thank You Jesus! I am blessed! Yet I am not deserving because my sin of many kinds continues...please forgive me and help me turn from and overcome my sin and turn towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You love me. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
