Jeremiah 17
God contrasts the fate of those in Judah who turned from Him with those who stood firm in their faith.
All of us from time to time have trusted in ourselves or others more than we have trusted in God - we all sin (Romans 3:23, 1 John 1:8) - indicating the need for all of us to have a Savior. Of course Jesus is that Savior.
What an amazing promise by God (and God keeps His promises) here for those who remain faithful.
Our confidence must rest in God.
My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an amazing God who loves me - I have seen the fruit in my life - that is from You alone. Thank You Jesus for the many, many blessings. I am not worth such love and blessing. I miss the mark and too often trust in myself or others. Please forgive me Jesus. Help me turn from my sin towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You do. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Please help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. v7-8

Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives. v5-6
