1 Samuel 1
Whatever God provides for us - including our family - these blessings belong to the Lord and are to serve His purpose and glory. We exist to glorify God.
So as much as Hannah loved her new son Samuel - she knew that He existed to glorify God and that God had a plan for Samuel. Hannah felt led to bring Samuel to Eli - as difficult as it was. She willingly surrendered to God's plan not just for Samuel's life, but for her life as well.
We must be prepared to willingly surrender what God has placed in our trust - including our children.
My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an awesome God, full of love and patience for me - thank You Jesus. I am not worth such love because I worry. Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome and turn from such sin towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You do. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
As surely as you live, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the Lord. I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord.” And he worshiped the Lord there. v26-28
