When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Mark 10

When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” v47

Bartimaeus was both desperate and impolite - see would not stop until he got Jesus' attention.  He even got rebuked by those around him (v48). DesiringGod.com encourages us to be both desperate and impolite in prayer.  We are encouraged to "cry out louder, to cry night and day, to nag him incessantly in faith until he answers us. He loves that kind of faith".

My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an incredible God who loves me and who has transformed my heart and life...and blessed me beyond what I deserve.  Thank You Jesus for Your grace and mercy and for the many blessings You pour out on me.  I am undeserving.  I daily miss the mark.  Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You.  Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You love me.  Help me grow in my faith.  Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength.  Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo.  Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior.  Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin.  Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
