Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:2
This morning, I continued my study of Romans. Using my commentary - Exalting Jesus in Romans (eBook) - I continued my study of chapter six The Blessings of Justification By Faith, which covers Romans 5:1-11. My focus today is Romans 5:2. As a result of our justification by faith we have a blessing of grace. My commentary refers to this grace as having a "warm relationship to God" and favor with Him. We are also encouraged to see how we are to "stand" in this grace and to live out this grace-based relationship daily. Scripture uses the word "access" and my commentary highlights use of this word to discuss how believers are children of God, that we depend on Him, and we can go to Him for all our needs big and small. My commentary writes: this grace "should prompt praise and communion with God. We can go to our Father all the time with our worries, problems, concerns, and fears and present them to him, knowing that he not only hears us but also welcomes us."

My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an awesome God who loves me and who is full of grace for me - I know that You are always with me and that I can always go to You with anything and You welcome me with open arms. Thank You Jesus! I am not deserving of such blessings. My sin continues - daily. Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You love me. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
