I will give thanks to you, O Lord, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, that you might comfort me.

Isaiah 11-12

I will give thanks to you, O Lord, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, that you might comfort me. Isaiah 12:1

I came back to my deep dive of Isaiah, based on the Precept Upon Precept study series.  Today, I reviewed Isaiah 11-12, where we see rich details of a Messianic prophecy.  In particular, we see a God who is certainly full of righteous anger for an unfaithful Israel; yet we also see a God who is faithful to those who remain firm in their faith - the remnant - and faithful to the promise God made to David (Davidic Covenant) in 2 Samuel 7.  Isaiah 12:1 brings to mind how all believers were one "hostile" to God but in His amazing grace loved and saved us anyway:

And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him[.] Colossians 1:21-22

My Prayer: Heavenly Father, You are rich in mercy and grace - I know You loved and saved me while I was still hostile and an enemy to You - and I continue to sin.  Thank You Jesus!  I am not deserving of Your grace, salvation, and love.  My sin does continue...daily.  Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You.  Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You love me. Help me grow in my faith.  Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength.  Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo.  Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior.  Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin.  Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others.  Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
