Let me sing for my beloved my love song concerning his vineyard: My beloved had a vineyard on a very fertile hill. He dug it and cleared it of stones, and planted it with choice vines; he built a watchtower in the midst of it, and hewed out a wine vat in it; and he looked for it to yield grapes, but it yielded wild grapes. Isaiah 4:2
I continue my deep dive of Isaiah, based on the Precept Upon Precept study series. On day 9 of my study, I start with Isaiah 5. While in the coming days, I will explore Isaiah 5 in more detail, this chapter starts with a portrait of a loving God who cares for and provides for His creation. It ends on a sorrowful note where despite God's loving care for His creation (Israel specifically) - the yield of His creation is not what He desires. Contrast the wild grapes discussed here in Isaiah 5 with the "fruits of the Spirit" Paul discusses in Galatians 5:
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
Once again, we exist to make much of God's name and to produce fruit.

My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an incredible God who cares for me in all ways - thank You Jesus! I am not deserving of how You care for me - including my salvation. My sin is great and it is daily. Please forgive me for my worry and other sins. Help me turn from my sin and towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You love me. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
