God has no need for animal sacrifice or empty ritual - He wants our heart and our life.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Proverbs 4:23
Note also the Lord's words to Samuel regarding David as the anointed one:
But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an amazing God who loves me and who will never leave or forsake me. You always hear my prayers and You respond with love, compassion, grace, patience, wisdom, etc. Thank You for being my God. I love You. Yet I am not worth such a God. I worry. Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind, and love others as You do. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
