Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years. Revelation 20:6
I resumed my D-Group's study of Revelation using Stephen Witmer's commentary and study guide - starting week 9 - which looks at Revelation 20:1-15. My commentary describes this chapter as "depict[ing] the realities of this present age, followed by a picture of the final judgment of Satan and all his followers." The commentary also briefly describes two of the more prominent viewpoints on end times - Premillennialism and amillennialism (for discussion on the leading different perspectives see video here). As a starting point, while there is much to unpack with regards to the details and how differing perspectives of end times explain these details, we should all agree that God's victory is assured! Spoiler alert - God always wins!

My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an amazing God and I KNOW victory over sin and death is assured by You, now and forever...thank You Jesus! I am not deserving of how You died on the cross for me so that I could have this victory. My sin continues...daily. Please forgive me Jesus and help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You love me. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
