I paused again my studies of both Isaiah and Proverbs to listen to DesiringGod.com's Solid Joys daily devotional, which focuses on why, in John Piper's words "why [does] God go to all the trouble to dirty his hands, as it were, with our decaying, sin-stained flesh, in order to reestablish it as a resurrection body and clothe it with glory and immortality?" Piper then provides the answer: "[b]ecause his Son paid the price of death so that the Father’s purpose for the material universe would be fulfilled, namely, that he would be glorified in it, including in our bodies, forever and ever." Bottom line, believers exist to glorify God now (in this life) and for eternity. I am reminded of additional texts on this topic, including 1 Corinthians 10:31 (So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.) and Romans 12:1 (I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.).

My Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are an awesome God who loves me and who is so FULL of grace for me - thank You Jesus! I fall short but You still love me - thank You Jesus! I am not deserving of such grace or love. My sin continues - too much of it and every day...please forgive me Jesus. Help me overcome and turn from my sin towards You. Help me love You with all of my heart, soul, and mind and love others as You love me. Help me grow in my faith. Give Lisa and myself wisdom and strength. Please heal Lisa of her cancer and from the side effects of chemo. Help us lead Zach and Dustin to You Jesus and for them to choose You as their Lord and Savior. Please provide Godly friends and spouses to Zach and Dustin. Help me serve You, my family, my church, and others. Help me understand, be obedient to, and apply Your message for me today and every day.
